This unusual looking horse is believed to date back to prehistoric times and closely resembles the Asiatic wild horse seen in prehistoric cave paintings.
Its history in a rugged, mountainous area of extreme weather conditions means it is exceptionally sure-footed and hardy.
Origin: Norway.
Colour: yellow or mouse dun, with dorsal stripe, and silver and black mane and tail.
Height: between 13 and 14.2hh.
Conformation: Broad forehead and small ears, short neck, deep body, short strong legs, hard feet.
Character: docile, strong-willed but kind and willing.
Uses: riding and driving, farm, mountain pack horse, excellent child’s horse.
