The elegant and athletic Andalusian, once the
foremost horse in Europe, excels in high-school work, and was used to
found many other breeds, including the Lipizzaner of Austria. It
originated in Spain and its blood is found in horses such as the
Peruvian Stepping Horse and the Paso Fino. |

| Colour: Usually grey, though bays and blacks
are seen. |
| Height: between 15.2 and 16 hands. |
| Conformation: broad forehead, bold eyes, long
arched neck, short deep body, powerful hindquarters, plenty of bone and
short cannon bone. |
| Character: docile, willing, proud. |
| Uses: bull-fighting, ceremonial, high-school
dressage. |
