BADMINTON
The British Horse Society will be out in
force at the Mitsubishi Motors Badminton
Horse Trials on 1-4 May.
The BHS Tradestand will be situated in
its usual site just along from the

queries on the wide range of BHS activities:
safety on the roads, access to off road
riding, BHS exams, training and horse care.
British Riding Clubs will be there too with
information about all their activities.
Friday 3 May on the BHS stand at 5.30
pm
Pippa Funnell will be
launching her new book written with Kate
Green -
Training
the Young Horse
This book shows how international
eventer Pippa Funnell - well known for her
ability to get the best out of the
youngsters she rides - builds up a
successful bond with the young horse. Using
Pippa’s personal experience and specially
commissioned photographs of the on-going
training of her own horses, this book will
show every rider - whatever their discipline
- how to lay the essential early groundwork.
Sunday 5 May
2.35 pm Main Arena - BHS
Fellowship Awards
His Grace the Duke of
Beaufort will present the BHS Fellowship to
William Blane and Rob Lovatt, who qualified
at the end of last year after a gruelling
three day examination.
Also receiving the award is
Christopher Bartle, the first person to
receive an Honorary BHS Fellowship.
BHS chief executive Kay Driver said: "We
are looking forward to meeting our members
at Badminton, and we welcome the opportunity
to answer questions from members and non
members alike. We very much regret that the
BHS Enclosure that has proved so popular
with members for many years will no longer
be available, since Badminton changed the
arrangements last year."
