The Westphalian
horse breed originates from the
Westphalia, Germany. This area is
known to have the last semi wild
horses of Germany. Annually there is
an auction to auction off the young
stallions. Westphalia and Lower
Saxony are the top breeding regions
within Germany, with Westphalia
having approximately 10,000
broodmares and 120 state stallions.
