An ancient and
loved breed of horse, the Pinto is a
well-known, very ancient color breed
that is known the world over.
Suitable for almost any type of
work, the Pinto is a stunning horse
that is adored by many. There are
four types of Pinto Horses and
ponies, based on the conformation
and background:
The stock type is suitable for
western events or Hunter Seat
events. This type should display the
conformation associated with the
Quarter Horse.
The hunter type is suitable for the
same events as the stock type, but
displays the conformation associated
with the Thoroughbred, an approved
Warmblood, or the running Quarter
Horse.
The pleasure type is presented in a
natural manner and is suitable for
general western, English, and
driving events. Its conformation is
associated with the Arabian or the
classic Morgan breed.
The saddle type is suitable for the
same events as the pleasure type and
is associated with an American
Saddlebred, a Tennessee Walker, or a
Missouri Foxtrotter breed.
